MYANMAR

Welcome to Myanmar

Myanmar, a country in Southeast Asia that enchants visitors as much today as it did a century ago, was once known as ancient Burma. It's a unique experience seeing the golden Shwedagon Pagoda glisten in the sun or taking in the temples of Bagan shrouded in the morning mist in Myanmar's cultural landscape. Likewise, the Burmese people are unique. Burmese culture has been dominated for centuries by friendly faces and traditional Thanaka paste that can be seen everywhere in the country.

Myanmar is Southeast Asia's largest and westernmost nation, bordering Bangladesh and India, at the crossroads between East Asia and South Asia. The result is an intoxicating blend of cultural influences. The geography of Myanmar, coupled with the traditional way of living that has prevailed since British colonial rule, contributes to a sense of 'otherworldliness' that is unique to the region.
