Greetings from Myanmar

Whether it's ancient Burma or modern Myanmar, the Southeast Asian country continues to enchant travellers today. From watching the golden Shwedagon Pagoda glisten in the sun to checking out Bagan's temples shrouded in morning mist, Myanmar's cultural landscape has a lot to offer. The people of Burma are equally special. No matter where you travel in this diverse country, you're guaranteed to be greeted by someone friendly, usually smeared with traditional Thanaka paste.

Shopping:

Voltage: Myanmar uses plug sockets of type C, D, F, and G. The standard voltage in Myanmar is 230V and the frequency is 50Hz. You will need a voltage converter and plug adapter to use U.S. appliances. We recommend getting a universal adapter and converter kit.

Visa

There are quite strict immigration policies in Myanmar, and visitors from everywhere except seven ASEAN countries must obtain a visa before they arrive. You can apply for a Burmese visa at a Burmese embassy, but you can also obtain an eVisa online via Myanmar eVisa (Official Government Website) (moip.gov.mm) https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/?lang=en-US . Myanmar tourists are permitted a 28-day stay from the date of entry, and it is not extendable. If a visa is not used within 90 days of receiving it, it becomes void. Foreigners can enter Myanmar through three international airports and three land border crossings between Thailand and Myanmar. In order to obtain a visa, it is recommended to enter through the same entry point as that listed on the application.

Climate & Weather

During the year, Myanmar experiences three distinct seasons. There are variations in temperature within each season. In the cold and dry season between November and February, temperatures typically range between 20°C (68°F) and 24°C (75°F), so there is a relatively dry atmosphere. March to April is the hot-dry season with average monthly temperatures of 30°C (86°F) to 35°C (95°F), so the country is intensely hot and there is not much rainfall. In the wet season, between May and October, there is high rainfall and the average temperature ranges from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F).
