SOC TRANG

Many Khmer pagodas, of which the Buu Son Tu pagoda, or Bat pagoda, is the huge nest for thousands of big bats that sometimes become delicacies to the local people and tourists. The Khmer museum of ancient artifacts is marvelous. All exhibits reflect a deep culture full of myth.

Buu Son Pagoda

Almost 2km from Soc Trang is a pagoda that visited by many local and foreign tourists. Buu Son pagoda,  which also called pagoda of Bats, is visited by pilgrims who come to burn incense and see the precious items displayed in the pagoda such as the thousand Buddha statues and the four sacred animals made in clay (dragon, unicorn, turtle, and phoenix). The main attraction of this pagoda is, of course, the bats in the garden.
