CAN THO

Can Tho, the capital of Can Tho Province, is a beautiful, friendly city built along the banks of the Hau River, 200 km from Ho Chi Minh City. Can Tho is the economic and cultural center of the Mekong  Delta and is connected to most other provincial towns in the region by a network of rivers and canals. Close to the centre of the city, to the other bank of the river, the Ninh Kieu Wharf, the city's main trading centre, is animated with hundreds of boats plying the river, bringing fruits and food from the neighbouring areas. However, what make a tour in Can Tho wonderful is not the city itself, but the surrounding rural areas and the bustling floating markets on the rivers. Cool climate, fresh air, and the fragrance of rice fields and evergreen orchards will bring complete relaxation to the visitors.

Phung Hiep Floating Market

Phung Hiep floating market is a place where hundreds of vessels gather here to trade all kinds of fruit from neighbouring fertile farms for shipment to canning factories and fruit markets in Ho Chi Minh City and in the north. Samples of seasonal fruits such as mangoes, mangosteens, rambutans, bananas, coconuts, durians, ... hung out on the deck for advertisement will be a frequent vivid sight to eye and to remember.
